Florida City, Leisure City & the Redland

In-Home ABA Therapy in Florida City

At the southern tip of the mainland, services can feel far away. Many families here work in farming, nurseries, or long shifts and cannot add clinic trips to the week. So we drive down to you, and sessions happen at home, at school, or in the community, in Spanish or English.

South Dade communities we reach

Our visits cover the area where the Turnpike meets US-1, from Leisure City south through Florida City and west into the Redland.

  • Florida City (33034)
  • Leisure City and Naranja
  • The Redland and Homestead farm areas
  • Homes off Krome Avenue and Palm Drive

Built around work schedules

Early mornings and seasonal work shape family life here. Tell us when someone is home, and we will try to fit sessions into those hours, including late afternoons when school lets out.

The last stop before the Keys

Florida City sits between our Miami-Dade routes and our Keys routes, which helps us keep visits regular here instead of treating the area as too far out.

A home visit between the packing houses and the canal roads

Many Florida City and Leisure City families live close to the fields, nurseries, and packing houses where a parent or grandparent works, and the household rhythm follows the growing season as much as the clock. We ask about that rhythm directly rather than defaulting to a generic weekday slot, and we are comfortable adjusting a visit earlier or later across the year as harvest schedules shift.

Homes stretch from the mobile home communities near Krome Avenue to newer developments off Palm Drive, and a session in one of them might involve a grandparent translating in the next room or an older cousin helping watch a younger sibling. We work with that extended household rather than asking it to step out of the room.

A number of Florida City families moved here more recently than families further north in the county, and some are still learning which agencies serve this part of South Dade at all. We try to be the clear, simple answer in that search: one phone call, a visit to the actual address, and a plan that does not require relocating services somewhere else.

School coordination with Miami-Dade County Public Schools

Children attending Florida City and Leisure City schools are part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the same district that covers the rest of the county, which means the coordination process looks the same here as it does further north even though the drive to reach you is longer for us. When the school agrees to coordinate, a therapist can join parts of the school day so a skill is not left behind the moment the home visit ends.

Because some families here also have children bused to schools outside the immediate area, we confirm pickup and drop-off times as part of scheduling, so a session is never planned for a window when your child is actually still on the bus.

The drive down US-1 and the Turnpike's last exit

Florida City sits where the Turnpike ends and US-1 becomes the only road south, and that junction can back up during peak travel times, especially on weekends when Keys-bound traffic passes through. We schedule weekday and off-peak visits here whenever we can so a family's session time is not at the mercy of through-traffic that has nothing to do with Florida City itself. On holiday weekends, when the backup near the Turnpike exit can stretch for miles, we plan a wider arrival window rather than promising a fixed minute and risking a late start.
