From Grassy Key to the Seven Mile Bridge
Marathon sits in 33050, and the families we serve around it are spread across Grassy Key, Key Colony Beach, Duck Key, Conch Key and the islands on either side, up toward Islamorada in 33036 and down through Big Pine in 33043. It is a long thin service area with one road running through the middle of it, and we plan the week around that instead of pretending the geography is not real.
The alternative most Middle Keys families have been offered is a drive to the mainland, which for a young child means hours in a car before and after a single therapy hour. In-home sessions remove that entirely, and they keep the therapy attached to the routines it is supposed to change.
What a session looks like in the Middle Keys
A therapist comes to your address and works through the parts of the day that are actually hard: getting out the door in the morning, homework, dinner, transitions, bedtime. The visit ends with time for whoever cares for your child, so the plan keeps running between sessions.
Because our office is in Key West, roughly fifty miles down US-1, Marathon is on the route rather than off it. That is what makes a steady weekly schedule possible up here, and in ABA consistency matters more than any single session does.

Does Medicaid cover ABA therapy in Marathon?
Yes. Florida Medicaid covers ABA therapy for children under 21 when it is medically necessary, and that applies in the Middle Keys exactly as it does anywhere else in Florida. We are an approved Florida Medicaid provider, so the coverage question and the distance question do not have to be solved separately. Do you come to our home in Marathon?
Yes. Sessions happen at your home in Marathon and the surrounding islands, or in the community when that is where a skill has to work. Families who are already heading down for other reasons sometimes use our Key West office instead, and either arrangement is fine.
Is there a Spanish-speaking therapist available in Marathon?
Yes. Every clinician on the team works in both English and Spanish, so a Spanish-speaking household in the Middle Keys gets the same service as an English-speaking one, without waiting for a translator or settling for English-only parent training.
Do I need a diagnosis or a referral before we start?
ABA is authorized on the basis of an autism diagnosis, so that has to exist before services begin. Referral requirements vary by plan. If either piece is missing, call anyway: we will tell you what is needed and help you work out where to get it without driving in circles.
